Thameside Quilters generous donations to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Shirley McBreen and her team, the Thameside Quilter, have been crafting quilts for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at ASPH since 1998 and recently provided four quilts, beautifully made by Jacquie Cranfield, for a set of quads who were born here on Wednesday 11 July 2018, three girls and one boy. The first quads born at St Peter’s for twenty five years!

The quilts are provided every year to NICU for long term patients to choose one to take home as a keep sake.

Jo Willard, Family Support Coordinator at Ashford and St Peter’s said: “As a unit we are very grateful to receive these quilts. They bring such joy to our parents, they are able to choose a colour for their babies’ cots and use as a keep sake of their time here on NICU.”
